COMMISSIONED WORK : COLUMBIA MUSEUM OF ART

Columbia Now: Four Photographers Show Us Our City was a show created to commemorate the burning of Columbia in 1865 at the end Civil War. I chose to make work focusing on the fertility of the South, trying to show that a city is more than “brick and mortar,” to build a bridge between past and the present, and to present the positive changes that have taken root over the years. By embracing the rich agricultural history that once was, I set out to share the vibrant semi-urban and semi-rural farming community that is thriving in the city today--in support of a sustainable future.
